Exactly what happens on each day.

  1. Day 1

    Jakarta – Istanbul

    • Meet at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and fly with Turkish Airlines
    • Arrive at Istanbul Airport, clear immigration, and meet the local guide
    • Lunch in the Eminönü district
    • A walk through the Grand Bazaar and its 4,000-plus stalls
    • Dinner and hotel check-in

  2. Day 2

    Istanbul: Sultanahmet – the Bosphorus

    • Breakfast at the hotel
    • Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Hippodrome on Sultanahmet square
    • Topkapi Palace and its collection of sacred relics
    • Lunch, then a Bosphorus strait cruise
    • The Spice Bazaar for a Turkish delight tasting
    • Dinner, then back to the hotel

  3. Day 3

    Istanbul – Çanakkale

    • Breakfast and hotel check-out
    • Drive to Çanakkale, crossing the Sea of Marmara
    • Iskender kebab lunch in Bursa
    • The archaeological site of Troy and its replica wooden horse
    • Hotel check-in in Çanakkale and dinner

  4. Day 4

    Çanakkale – Pergamon – Kuşadası

    • Breakfast and hotel check-out
    • The Pergamon acropolis, with the steepest theatre of the ancient world
    • Lunch en route
    • A visit to a Turkish leather and wool centre
    • Check in to a beachfront resort in Kuşadası and have dinner

  5. Day 5

    Kuşadası – Ephesus – Pamukkale

    • Breakfast and hotel check-out
    • Ancient Ephesus: the Library of Celsus, the great theatre, and Marble Street
    • The House of the Virgin Mary on Bulbul Hill
    • Lunch, then the drive to Pamukkale
    • Check in to a thermal hotel, dinner, and a hot spring soak

  6. Day 6

    Pamukkale – Konya

    • Breakfast and hotel check-out
    • The white terraces of Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis
    • Lunch, then the long drive to Konya
    • A leg-stretch stop at Lake Egirdir
    • Hotel check-in in Konya and dinner

  7. Day 7

    Konya – Cappadocia

    • The Mevlana Museum, resting place of Jalaluddin Rumi
    • A stop at Sultanhani Caravanserai, a 13th-century Silk Road inn

    • Arrive in Cappadocia, check in, and have dinner with a sema dance performance

    Cappadocia

    • Dawn hot-air balloon flight (optional, booked separately)
    • Breakfast at the hotel
    • The Kaymakli underground city and Devrent Valley
    • Lunch, then the Göreme Open Air Museum
    • Avanos pottery workshops on the Kizilirmak river
    • Farewell dinner at the hotel

  9. Day 9

    Cappadocia – Istanbul – Jakarta

    • Breakfast and hotel check-out
    • Transfer to Kayseri Airport for the domestic flight to Istanbul
    • Transit at Istanbul Airport
    • Flight home to Jakarta

Important notes

Indonesian passport holders do not need a visa for tourist visits to Türkiye of up to 30 days. Balloon flights depend heavily on the weather and can be cancelled by the local authority; if that happens the fee is refunded in full. Prices are indicative and still move with exchange rates, airfares, and peak seasons. Departure can be arranged from another home city. Tell us yours when you enquire and we will quote the fare difference. The hotels listed are a reference; if they are full we substitute a hotel of a similar standard in the same area.
